When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?

The best time for newborn photography is within the first 10 days of your baby’s life, when they are still very sleepy and flexible for those cute, curled-up poses. Ideally, you should book your session while you’re still pregnant to ensure availability.

What happens if my baby cries or is fussy during the session?

It’s completely normal for newborns to cry or be fussy. I’m experienced in soothing babies to help them feel comfortable, and we’ll take breaks as needed for feeding, rocking, and comforting. We’ll work at your baby’s pace to ensure they’re relaxed.

How long will it take to receive the photos after the session?

Approx. 2-3 weeks after your photoshoot we'll arrange a gallery reveal appointment where you'll be able to see the finished gallery and choose your favourite images.

Can we include our pets in the session?

Pets are part of the family too! If you’d like to include your pets in the newborn session, just let me know in advance. We can capture some sweet moments with your baby and furry family members.

About your photoshoot...

Your baby's safety and comfort are always my highest priority. I am newborn safety trained, paediatric first aid trained, and fully insured, with every session planned around your baby's wellbeing.

Newborn sessions are completely baby led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, settling, and comfort breaks whenever needed. There is never any rushing because your baby sets the pace. As every baby is different, sessions can last up to 3 to 4 hours, giving us all the time your little one needs.

To help your baby feel calm and secure, the studio is kept at a cosy 25°C, creating a comfortable environment for newborns. Gentle swaddling techniques are used to soothe and settle babies, always ensuring they are comfortable, well supported, and able to breathe freely.

Every wrap, prop, and fabric is carefully chosen, thoroughly cleaned, and used with your baby's safety and comfort in mind, so you can relax knowing your little one is in safe hands.

Relax and enjoy your session while I guide you every step of the way.

Within 10 days, you'll return for your viewing appointment to see your photos and choose your favourites.
