We are so lucky to live in a beautiful place like Gloucestershire. The city, the countryside view, the Cotswolds... breathtaking!
But here’s the thing: Sometimes of the day are much, much better than others to have your family photos taken. So, when’s the best time of the day?

Golden hours - my favourite time!
Do you know why? Golden Hour is that magical time of the day just before sunset when the lighting is beautiful and enhances the appearance of everything and everyone. I prefer to plan outdoor photo sessions during Golden Hour.
For parents with young children, we suggest having a late nap and a snack or dinner before the session to ensure they are in the best possible mood.
However, we understand that some families may not be able to keep their little ones up that late, and that's perfectly okay! We are more than happy to make arrangements to accommodate your schedule.
Morning sunrise
If the golden hour is not available, the morning sunrise is the next best option. The morning light is just as stunning as the light during sunset. Rest assured, we are capable of capturing beautiful photos for your family regardless of the time of day.
Therefore, if you are unable to have a shoot during the golden hour, there's no need to worry! We can arrange your session for the morning, typically around 9 or 10 am when the sun is not too high in the sky yet.
Additionally, children are usually in high spirits in the morning, making morning sessions even more enjoyable!
What if the weather won't allow us to shoot outside?
This is a common problem in the UK! While we adore the UK, the weather can be quite erratic.
It's important to note that it doesn't have to be a sunny day for good photos! Surprisingly, the midday sun can create shadows, cause squinting, and make lighting difficult.
Talented photographers can make the most of cloudy days and capture stunning images. If needed, we can always reschedule our session as a last resort.
